As you may be aware, Hampshire County Council is currently holding a public consultation on the future of library services in Hampshire. As part of this consultation, the Council is seeking views on the potential closure of ten libraries across the county, including Chineham.

Tellon Capital, owner of Chineham District Centre, is very disappointed to hear of the prospective closure of Chineham library. We appreciate, not only how important it is to the community, but the benefits it brings, and underline our wish to have the library retained .We have responded to the consultation to state this and will be working with local stakeholders to establish what can be done.

Although an integral part of Chineham District Centre, the library itself is owned by Hampshire County Council and will not be impacted at all by the proposed enhancement of the Centre.

Further details on the consultation, including how you can have your say on the proposed closures, can be found on Hampshire County Council’s website at www.hants.gov.uk/aboutthecouncil/haveyoursay/consultations/library-consultation.
