Easter Egg Appeal supports the local community

This Easter, Tesco Chineham is working with local charity Spotlight UK to help spread some Easter joy amongst local children who otherwise may not receive an Easter Egg.

Their Easter Egg Appeal will run from 10thMarch to 13thApril; the community can either leave their egg donations in one of the trolleys behind the tills at Tesco, or eggs can be dropped off at the Spotlight UK offices(Hart House, Office 20, Priestley Road, Basingstoke, RG24 9PU).

Julie Shepherd, Community Champion at Tesco Basingstoke, said: ‘Having run a very successful Christmas Appeal for the last six years, this year it has become evident that there is the need to run an Easter Appeal. Over the past few weeks we have been approached by a number of local organisations looking for support this Easter, so we’re delighted to be able to step in and work alongside Spotlight & Chineham Shopping Centre Management to run the Appeal. At Christmas, over 3,300 gifts were donated by very generous shoppers and local businesses; if we manage to top this amount, we’d certainly keep the Easter bunny very busy!’

Chineham Shopping are also supporting the Appeal, kicking off the donations with the first 50 Easter eggs. James Wall, Centre Manager at Chineham Shopping, said: ‘Supporting the local community is absolutely key to us at Chineham Shopping, and we’re delighted to be working with Tesco & Spotlight UK on the Appeal.’

For further information about donations, please contact either Julie at Tesco on 07514 408482 or Michaela at Spotlight UK on 07804 880072.
