COVID-19 Update: Playing Our Part


COVID-19 The pandemic has presented unprecedented and extraordinary challenges for our communities, our retailers, our teams, and our customers.

We continue to monitor the situation and  Government’s public health guidance closely, we will keep all our shoppers updated via our website and social media channels.

From Friday 24th July and in line with the latest Government Face Covering Guidance, we are asking our customers to wear a face covering when shopping in our stores.

Here at Chineham Shopping we have been working hard to ensure the centre is safe.

The safety of our shoppers, employees and retailers is paramount and we have made a number of changes to your shopping experience to help keep you safe.

These include;
  • Physical Distance Signage
  • Hand Sanitiser available at the Band Stand and under the archways
  • A one-way system to aid in physical distancing
A number of our stores have remained open throughout recent months. Several have also reopened since Monday 15th June. Please note, opening hours may vary. Please see relevant store page for more information.

Additional Support:

Tesco:
  • 9am-10am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will prioritise the elderly and most vulnerable.
  • Sunday 9:00am until 10:00am NHS staff.
M&S:
  • The first hour of trade has been set aside for the elderly and most vulnerable customers on Mondays and Thursdays, and NHS workers on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Limiting 40 customers in store at one time for social distancing.
Iceland:
  • First hour of trade prioritise the elderly and most vulnerable customers everyday day
  • Last hour of trade NHS staff
Pets Corner:
  • Taking phone orders in store and staff members delivering items to customers upon request, please call  - 01256 361963

Local Support Available:

Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, Basingstoke Community Hub & Basingstoke Voluntary Action are working with Hampshire County Council to offer help to vulnerable Hampshire residents.

A new coronavirus Hampshire Helpline - Hantshelp4vulnerable - has been set up and can be contacted on 0333 370 4000. The helpline is available 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm.

Vulnerable residents who need help, and do not have support from family or friends, should call the helpline to register for support. More details can be found here.
